Chardonnay

Pale straw in colour. This lively refreshing wine shows lots of minerality and melon fruit flavours on both the nose and palate. The evidence of oak fermentation slowly evolves in the mouth. Lovely overtones of cashew nuts and pear add complexity to the wine. Ideal with cold meats, seafood and fish.

Shiraz

Rich, deep red in colour. The nose is brooding in spicy American oak characters with undertones of dark berry fruit flavours. A sweet luscious front palate opens up to a generous mouth filling wine. The wine shows textured fruit weight balanced with fine tannins and subtle American oak characters. Ideal with red meats, poultry and cheese.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Bright red purple in colour. Generosity in fruit characters leap out of the glass. Creamy French oak characters enhance the fine tannin structure of this wine. Classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon fruit characters are the strength of this wine, exhibited through a rich mouth feel, finishing with a soft lingering after taste. Enjoy with all beef and game dishes and well aged cheeses. Cellaring potential: 5 to 7 years.

Much of the philosophy for the style of wine to produce begins with the vineyard. Firstly, the location of vineyards is on the traditional prime Terra Rossa soil of Coonawarra. This is of the utmost importance to the Winery. Secondly, a very strong belief in the traditional hand pruning of vines, combined with an arch cane trellis system. This improves the evenness of budburst, bunch exposure and ripeness, but more importantly, this method of pruning ensures that Winery have a balanced vine. Therefore the vine will produce fruit of optimum quality. It is this optimum fruit that makes Bowen‟s bench mark wines which reflect the true characteristics of Coonawarra - strong varietal aromas, big flavours and soft balanced tannins.

Evans & Tate, Western Australia

Gnangara Sauvignon Blanc

Appearance is a fresh pale straw with a light green tint. A fully aromatic Sauv-blanc, complex and bountiful, exhibiting passionfruit notes with hints of lychee, complimented by mineral and underlying nettle. The pungent and lifted nose offers more elements of tropical fruits, lime zest, musk and subtle g rassy hints. Palate shows tremendous flavour intensity and freshness. It keeps on delivering a cleansing citrus acidity and a lasting impression, finishing spotlessly clean on the tongue. A fully fruit driven yet dry and engaging, light bodied wine, highly suitable to chilled early drinking, very at home with a light chicken pasta or grilled prawns.

Gnangara Unwooded Chardonnay

Colour is a clear pale straw with brilliant green hues. Lifted pear, green apple, honeydew melon and zesty lemon citrus characters. Further aromas of guava and mango, cashew nuts and zabayon. The palate is generous and rich with fresh, clean tropical fruit and stone fruit flavours, excellent acidity and subtle notes of sherbet. Enjoy with Fish „n chips, salads, or try Moroccan chicken with cous cous.

Gnangara Cabernet/Merlot

Colour is cherry red with violet hues. Clean, fresh and varietal with red berries, plum and soft herbal notes. Blackberry, reduced stock and earth, hints of menthol and warm cedary oak on the nose. As well as a fresh palate that is softly textured with fine tannins, fresh red berries, sweet n sour cherry, and a hint of roasted coffee bean. Accompanied very well with all kinds of meat or rich pasta dishes, venison or duck as well as with cheese.

Margaret River Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc

Very pale straw with a vibrant green hue. Stunning, lifted grassy and lime zest aromas combined perfectly with the fresh herbal gooseberry notes of the Semillon. Limited use of French oak has added integrated delicate spicy, mineral notes. The palate is juicy and fresh, with subtle layers of complex lemon and lime sorbet, crisp snow pea and fresh gooseberry fruit flavours. These combine beautifully with a touch of minerality and a long, dry finish. Enjoy with goat cheese or baked or pan-fried white fish with creamy sauces.

Margaret River Shiraz

Blood red colour with purple tints. Maraschino cherry, ripe mulberry, spice and earthy aromas dominate the nose with subtle smoke and cedar notes from barrel fermentation. Fragrances of ripe black cherry, berries and savouriness, chocolate, and clove spice combined with toasted coconut oak. Ripe cherry and mulberry fruit flavours continue onto the palate, combining with hints of spice and elegantly integrated fine, dusty tannins. The wine is juicy, rich and soft with a lingering finish. Idyllic with chargrilled t-bone, pan-fried beef steak with pepper juice or rib-eye steak.

Glaetzer, Barossa Valley

2009 Bishop Shiraz

A blend of fruit from 35 year-old vines & 120 year-old vines is the key to the Bishop cuvee. The fruit from younger vines is fresh & vibrant, whilst Shiraz from the oldest blocks in the Ebenezer vineyard give structure and enhance palate profile. Wisps of cloves, nutmeg and five spice add definition to the layers of dark stone fruits and espresso. The palate has density yet also displays savoury, textural components and fine-grained ripe tannins. A perfect food wine that is fresh and flavoursome and finishes with impressive length and depth.

2009 Amon-Ra Shiraz

The rich purple colour indicates both youthful exuberance and density. A compelling nose of espresso, truffles, dark plums and blackcurrant with layers of aromatic intensity that remains fresh and lively. The palate is multilayered, with masses of cassis and mixed spice, and a hint of chocolate. Amon-Ra 2009 displays an appealing brightness and beguiling purity. This is an Amon-Ra that will be remembered for its true, elegant expression of our Ebenezer terroir.

Winemaking patriarch Colin Glaetzer established his own label to create wines he‟s passionate about - limited quantities of benchmark Barossa Valley reds. It is the pinnacle of Colin's 30-year career with achievements such as his creation of the revered Barossa Valley Estates E & E Black Pepper Shiraz. The birth of Glaetzer Wines also signaled a new era for Colin‟s family which boasts more than its fair share of winemakers. The clan includes Colin, his oenology-trained wife Judith, twin brother/winemaker John, and five winemakers among the couple's three sons and their wives!
Colin and his winemaker son Ben have a shared philosophy. Both firmly believe that great wines are made in the vineyard. Their belief in “terroir” and an understanding of the ancient dry-grown vineyards in the renowned Ebenezer district of the Barossa is evident. Stickleback White

Pale lemon in colour. A beautifully fragrant nose, with citrus & tropical fruit flavours bursting out of the glass. The Stickleback White is a wine greater than the sum of its parts, with each variety bringing its own unique quality to the blend. Verdelho adds natural richness and acidity to the palate. Viognier contributes luscious body and texture. Semillon provides vibrant, zesty citrus characters. Flavours of white nectarine and apricot kernel and perfectly balanced by a crisp natural acidity on the finish. Fresh and lively, it makes a perfect summertime drink. Enjoy with fresh seafood, salt and pepper squid, seared scallops or Thai-style spicy food.

Pinot Grigio

Pale lemon green in colour, the Pinot Grigio displays an attractive nose with hints of melon, pear and apple blossom. The palate is fresh and lively with a touch of spice and citrus. The tannin of Pinot Grigio adds firmness and structure to the palate. A hint of Viognier contributes to the luscious mouthfeel. Sumptuous fruit flavours are balanced by a crisp, dry, flinty finish making it the perfect accompaniment to richly flavoured foods. Dry, medium-bodied and unoaked.

Stickleback Red

Vibrant, deep ruby in colour. A beautifully fragrant wine with black fruit characters of cherry, sweet plums and blackcurrant on the nose, with notes of chocolate and nutmeg spice. The Stickleback blend is chosen for optimum flavour and texture, with each variety bringing a unique character to the wine. Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz give the wine a rich savoury character and great structure. Dolcetto lends brightness and lift, and Lagrein contributes spice, tannin and a fresh, crisp acidity to the palate. Food suggestions: Char-grilled lamb or a juicy steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon

The Cabernet Sauvignon is a vibrant ruby in colour. Wonderfully fragrant, with a lifted nose of black cherries, mulberries and plums, complemented by spicy oak characters of tobacco and vanilla. The palate displays plummy, blackcurrant jam notes with a hint of mocha. A rich, medium bodied, textural wine, with savoury, fine-grain tannins and fresh acidity.

Shiraz

Vibrant purple hues with a deep ruby red core. The nose has masses of black fruits, red currants and spice which support hints of espresso and dried spice notes. On the palate, the wine is soft yet maintains expressions of cassis, anise and earthiness. Savoury, rich and yet balanced and restrained. This release will provide excellent mid to long term cellaring potential.
